Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
Praktice is operated by SVISS43 Advisory and Technology Services Private Limited ("SVISS43", "we", "us").
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It applies to praktice.in and to the Praktice application.
1. Who this policy covers
Praktice is used by professional firms — chartered accountants, company secretaries, cost accountants, tax practitioners, advocates and similar practices. Two kinds of people are involved:
- You, the subscribing firm and its staff. You hold an account with us.
- Your clients, whose details your firm records in Praktice. We never deal with them directly.
For your own account data, we are the data controller. For the client data you enter, you remain the controller and we act as a processor on your instructions. We do not use your client data for our own purposes.
2. What we collect
Account information
Name, email address, phone number, postal address, role, branch, joining date, and password (stored as a cryptographic hash — we cannot read it).
Firm information
Firm name, practice type, branch names and addresses, roles and permissions you configure.
Client and work data you enter
This is the substantive content of your practice. It may include:
- Client names, contact persons, phone numbers and addresses
- PAN and GSTIN of your clients
- Client type, billing period, and notes you record
- Tasks, work types, periods, due dates, statuses and approvals
- Fee amounts, billing status and collection status
- Expense claims, advances and settlements
- Attendance records for your staff
We treat PAN, GSTIN and fee information as sensitive. It is stored in the same protected database as the rest of your firm's data and is visible only to users of your firm whose role permits it.
Payment information
Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. Card numbers, UPI IDs, bank details and similar payment credentials are handled entirely by Razorpay and never reach our servers. We receive only a payment identifier, the amount, the status, and the subscription reference.
Technical information
Server logs recording IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, kept for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why we process it
| Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|
| Providing the service you subscribed to | Performance of our contract with you |
| Authentication and account security | Performance of contract; legitimate interest |
| Billing, invoicing and collecting subscription fees | Performance of contract; legal obligation |
| Responding to support requests | Performance of contract |
| Detecting and preventing misuse | Legitimate interest |
| Meeting tax, accounting and other legal duties | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your client data to train machine-learning models.
4. Where your data is stored
Your data is hosted on Supabase, in a database located in Mumbai, India (ap-south-1). The application is served from Vercel, with server functions running in the Mumbai (`bom1`) region.
Some of our service providers operate globally and may process limited data outside India in the course of delivering their service — for example, transactional email delivery. Where that happens, it is limited to what the service requires.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with providers who help us run Praktice:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Vercel — application hosting
- Razorpay — subscription payments
- Resend — transactional email such as password resets
- Telegram — only if your firm chooses to enable Telegram alerts, and only the alert content you configure
Each is bound to use the data solely to provide their service to us.
We may also disclose data where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, and where necessary to establish or defend legal claims.
6. How long we keep it
While your subscription is active, we keep your data so the service works.
After cancellation or non-payment, your firm's data is retained for 30 days. During this window you may resubscribe and resume where you left off, or ask us to export your data. After 30 days, your firm's data is permanently deleted from our production systems.
Backups may persist for a short period beyond this before being overwritten in the ordinary course.
Records we must keep for tax or statutory reasons — invoices, payment records — are retained for the period the law requires, independently of the above.
7. Security
- All traffic between your browser and Praktice is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes, never in readable form
- Staff logins created by an administrator must be changed by the user at first login, so the person who created the account does not retain access
- Access within a firm is governed by the roles and permissions your firm configures
- Data belonging to one firm is not accessible to another
No system is perfectly secure. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a breach occurs that is likely to cause you significant harm, we will notify you without undue delay.
8. Your rights
You may:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information — most of it you can edit directly in the application
- Export your firm's data — write to us and we will provide it in a machine-readable format
- Delete your account and your firm's data
- Withdraw consent where processing rests on consent
- Complain to the relevant supervisory authority
Write to support@praktice.in. We will respond within 30 days.
A note on client data: if one of your clients asks you to correct or delete their information, that request is yours to action, since you control what is recorded. We will assist you if you need us to.
9. Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the service — principally to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
10. Children
Praktice is professional software sold to firms. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email to the firm's registered address or by notice in the application. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
